Energy Post, your leading independent international energy publication, based in Amsterdam and Brussels, is looking for an editor.
Energy Post is part of Energy Post Productions (EPP), jointly owned by Karel Beckman and Matthew James. EPP’s activities include the independent, open-access websites Energy Post and The Energy Collective (www.theenergycollective.com), a successful events business, as well as the premium, subscription-based newsletter Energy Post Weekly (www.energypostweekly.eu). We have a combined global reach of almost 1,000,000 energy professionals per year.
We have an opening for a part-time desk editor (freelance, 20 hours a week) for the Energy Post website (www.energypost.eu), starting immediately.
The articles on Energy Post are a mix of original content by freelance journalists and expert authors as well as selected republications from energy experts, opinion leaders and bloggers.
The editor is expected to:
- search for interesting content, communicate with authors, and edit content as required
- edit articles submitted by journalists and authors (and, optionally, to write his/her own articles)
- publish articles in WordPress
- promote articles on social media
In addition, the editor is responsible for putting together a free weekly newsletter which keeps Energy Post readers informed of all material that has been published.
Working hours and place of residence are fully flexible.
Applicants must be: passionate about the subject of energy, absolutely able to write English at native speaker level, have good communication skills, good editing and journalistic skills, and be familiar with social media. Fee to be discussed.
Please apply only if you have the requisite skills.
You can send a short letter, c.v. and, if relevant, links to published work to Karel Beckman, email@example.com. We will try to reply to all serious applications but please allow some time for processing.
